Arnab Goswami started his career as a journalist with the newspaper The Telegraph in 1990. He worked there for only a few months and then shifted his job.
In 1995, he relocated to Delhi and started working as a news anchor with the popular news channel NDTV 24*7. After working for 3 years as a news anchor with the channel he was promoted as news editor in the channel.

Arnab was involved in several controversies throughout his career in journalism. He has been criticized by many people many times for his style of conducting debates on his news channel. He was even criticized for identifying a rape-accused as rapist and terror-accused as a terrorist.
He also received a notice from the News Broadcasting Standards Authority when he used inappropriate words against a person during his show. The NBSA demanded an apology from the channel.
In the year 2017, The Times Now group has registered a complaint against Arnab for claiming theft, infringement of intellectual property rights, criminal breach of trust, and various other charges. Later in the same year, congress’s MP Shashi Tharoor filed a complaint against Arnab for linking his name with his wife’s death.
Recently, he faced criticism for using an inappropriate word against congress’s head Sonia Gandhi in connection with the lynching case that took place in Palghar, Maharashtra. On 4 November 2020, he was arrested by Mumbai police in connection with a two old year case in which Arnab was investigated for his involvement in the death of an architect named Anvay Naik. According to the reports, the architect committed suicide in May 2018 with his mother and left a suicide note after him in which he blamed Arnab for his death.
