William Felton Russell, popularly known as Bill Russell is an American who is a famous basketball player by profession. For the Celtics, he is the most valuable player in NBA history, winning five MVP awards as well as 12 All-Star games throughout his 13-year career.
For the most titles won by a North American sports league player, Russell and Henri Richard of the National Hockey League are tied for the lead. Two consecutive NCAA titles for the San Francisco Dons in 1955 and 1956 were guided by him.
