Brandon Lee, also known as Brandon Bruce Lee was an American, who was a famous actor, martial artist, and fight choreographer. In the early 1990s, he proved himself as a rising action lead. In the year 1994 release film, Brandon bagged his breakthrough role in the film titled The Crow, which was a dark fantasy genre, as Eric Draven. However, his role was cut short and his career came to an end after his fatal death during the production of the film “The Crow”.
Brandon Lee is the son of Bruce Lee, who was a martial artist and famous actor. Brandon’s father passed away when he was eight years old. Brandon followed his career journey similar to his father and got trained in martial arts. He got his acting degrees from Emerson College and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Brandon began his career with many famous films as a lead artist. He was seen in the Hong Kong action film Legacy of Rage, in the year 1986 and the straight-to-video Laser Mission, in the year 1989. In two spin-offs of the 1970s Kung Fu series, Brandon made a star appearance. One of them was Kung Fu: The Movie, in the year 1986, which was a television film and the other was in 1987, the pilot Kung Fu: The Next Generation.
But, in the year 1991, Brandon made a transition and opted for Hollywood productions. He was seen in Showdown in Little Tokyo, which was the Warner Bros buddy cop film. Here Dolph Lundgren was his co-star. However, at the very beginning, it was not received well among the audience and even critics were not satisfied with the film. But, later it turned out to be a cult film. After this, in the year 1992, Brandon was cast in Rapid Fire as a leading role which was produced by 20th Century Fox. However, the film was not well-received. But, Lee’s onscreen presence and performance were praised by the critics.
Before the fatal incident associated with The Crow, Brandon filmed almost all of his scenes. But, after that, he got wounded by a prop gun on set. He was praised for his performance and also the film became critically acclaimed and gained commercial success. There is a similarity with his father, based on his career, as in both cases, they died just before the release of their breakthrough film.
