Teddy Pendergrass was an American singer. He was born on March 26, 1950, in South Carolina.
In 1997, Pendergrass released his self-titled album, which went platinum on the strength of the disco hit, I Don’t Love Anymore. He released a lot of songs that made him a household name.
In 2006, Pendergrass announced his retirement from the music business. In 2007, he briefly returned to performing to participate in Teddy 25: A Celebration of Life, Hope & Possibilities, a 25th-anniversary awards ceremony that marked Pendergrass’s crash, but also raised money for his charity, The Teddy Pendergrass Alliance, and honoured those who helped Pendergrass since the accident.

Teddy Pendergrass died of colon cancer. Pendergrass died in a hospital outside of Philadelphia, the city in which he was born 59 years ago. I was working in a record store in the late 1970s when Pendergrass’ solo records, like Teddy and TP, were selling like crazy.
