In an interview, Jitendra revealed that once he applied for the National School of Drama in Delhi but got rejected. After this incident, he moved to Mumbai and started his struggle as an actor. He used to work as an actor for five days and on weekends he used to give physics and mathematics classes to IIT aspirants to earn some pocket money.

He also stated that during his college time he used to be a very lazy person and woke up till noon. He also shared an old picture of his college time when he got a chance to meet actor Ayushman Khurana which went viral over social media after the release of his film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.
He likes writing poetry, doing paper wall art, playing guitar, and playing cricket as his hobbies. He is a very talented person, he used to mimic various Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Nana Patekar, Shah Rukh Khan, and others during his college time.
