Politics used to be an ultimate boys game. That is to say, it was a game dominated by men.
But in recent times as the call for gender equality is gaining ground, a lot of women have also entered the politics-sphere and have as such carved a name for themselves.

Hillary Clinton is another name to reckon in the politics game. She is a veteran and has seen a lot. Being the wife of former US president Bill Clinton, she served as the First Lady from 1993 to 2001.

Known for her relentless spirit, she worked her way up to become 67th United States Secretary of State, before her big presidential nomination in 2016.
She was a big threat to Trump in 2016 but he won at the end of the day.

Nancy Pelosi is one of the heroines of America. She’s well known for her zero-tolerant nature. She always says things the way they are — very straightforward.
This politician is a member of the Democratic Party in America and has been a speaker of the US House of Representatives ever since the start of 2019.

5. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also known by her initials AOC, is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district since 2019.
She became a household name when she defeated her incumbent Joe Crowley back in 2018. Crowley since 2004 had no challenger who could win him so it became big news when Alexandria was able to overthrow her.
What made her more famous was her victory made her the youngest woman to serve in Congress. Many tout her as the future president of the US.
6. Condoleezza Rice:
Condoleezza “Condi” Rice is an American diplomat, political scientist, civil servant, and professor who is the current director of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
She’s one of the famous names in US politics having served as the 66th US Secretary of State. She was the first female African-American person to take this office.
Also, she was President Bush’s National Security Advisor for his first presidential term. She was the only woman to ever have this position.
7. Elizabeth Warren:
If you want to make a list of politicians who championed courses for women’s rights,
Elizabeth Warren should be on top of the list.
She’s a champion for women’s rights and became a liberal figure as she chaired. Her role and dedication have made her win the hearts of many.
She wanted to become the next president and even campaigned during the 2020 elections. But along the line, she gave up and rooted for Joe Biden.
Warren was the first woman to represent Massachusetts in the United States Senate. She is a former law professor who is the senior United States senator from Massachusetts, serving since 2013.
8. Ruth Bader Ginsburg:
May her soul rest in peace but her legacy lives on.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American lawyer and jurist who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1993 until her death in September 2020.
Ginsburg was the first Jewish woman (and second woman ever) to serve on the Supreme Justice Court, after Sandra Day O’Connor. She changed history during her time there, fighting discrimination and other injustices.
9. Michele Bachmann:
Born April 6, 1956 (age 65 years),
Michele Bachmann is a top member of the Republican party. She represented Minnesota’s 6th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2007 to 2015.
She was also a candidate for the 2012 US presidential election, on behalf of the Republican party. Her contributions are highly respectable.
10. Sarah Palin:
Sarah Louise Palin served as the ninth Governor of Alaska from 2006 until her resignation in 2009. She was nominated by the Republican Party for the position of Vice President of the US back in the 2008 election alongside John McCain.
Although her political career was flooded with a couple of controversies, her efforts cannot be under-estimated.
11. Maxine Waters:
Maxine Moore Waters is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for California’s 43rd congressional district since 1991.
Her contributions over the past 3 decades are remarkable. Aside from this, she’s both the first female, and first African American person to have a chair on the House Financial Services Committee.
12. Michelle Obama:
Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama is one of the most famous female politicians. Served as the First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017.
Note that she was the first African-American to serve in this position. She is married to the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.
She stood right beside her husband to make the world a better place. She advocated (and is still doing so) for healthy families, girls’ educations, and service members.
