Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as Pelé is a Brazilian who is a famous former professional footballer. Considered one of the best players of all time and dubbed “the greatest” by FIFA, he was one of the twentieth century’s most successful and popular sports celebrities.
In the year 1999, he was selected International Olympic Committee’s Athlete of the Century and was featured in Time magazine’s list of the century’s 100 most influential individuals. Pelé was named World Player of the Century by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) in 2000.

Born on 23 October 1940, Pelé’s age is 81 years as of November 2021. He was born and brought up in a rich-class Christian family from Três Corações, Brazil. He is Brazilian by nationality and believes in the Christian religion.
He dropped out of school at a very young age.
He later enrolled himself at the Metropolitan University of Santos in Brazil from where completed his higher studies. From the very beginning of his childhood, he was very much interested in sports, and co-curricular activities rather than in studying.
