Social activist Saket Gokhale made the headlines when he files a plea against Ram Temple Bhoomi Poojan. Saket filed the petition at Allahabad High Court stating that around 300 people would gather at the temple on the occasion of Bhoomi Poojan which would violate the social distancing guidelines that are prescribed by the government.
However, after all the arguments the High Court bench dismissed the petition filed by the social activist. He also appeared in a news debate on ZeeNews in which he stated that the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony in between the middle of this pandemic is too risky and the government should postpone this for some time.
After this incident, Saket tweeted that he was getting death threats on the phone from BJP & RSS workers as well as some of the members of RSS showed up outside his house in Mumbai and started shouting “Jai Shri Ram” slogans and threatened him and his family.
The Maharashtra deputy chief minister Anil Deshmukh ordered an immediate inquiry over the issue and also assured the activist about his and his family protection.
