Born on 22 March 1972, Sanjay Singh’s age is 48 years as of 2020. He was born and brought up in a well-to-do educated family in Sultanpur District, Uttar Pradesh, India.
He completed his early schooling from a private school in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. After that, he enrolled himself at Orissa School of Mining Engineering in Keonjhar from where he completed his diploma in Mining Engineering.
Since childhood, he was inclined towards social work and didn’t want to work in a regular 9 to 5 job. After his studies, he started doing social work in his area and organized a blood donation camp, health camp, and welfare camp for the poor community.

Sanjay Singh started his career by doing social works in his area. He started an organization named “Sultanpur Samaj Sewa Sangathan” in 1994 which focuses on helping the poor community in the area. His organization organized blood donation camps, health camps, and campaigning for people’s rights.
After that, he went to Delhi and started thekedari on rickshaw stand near New Delhi railway station and also worked with the organization “Azad Sewa Samiti”. In no time, he became thekedari prominent leader in Delhi and later on became an important part of the National Hawker’s Association.
Sanjay Singh also worked for many social movements and causes for people’s welfare. He worked for 16 years for the rights of hawkers and fight for the rights of the people and the practice of corruption in Keonjhar, Orissa, India. Apart from these he also worked with Arvind Kejriwal and get associated with Anna Hazare’s campaign of India Against Corruption in 2011 and worked with Sandeep Pandey in 2002 and with Medha Patkar in 2007 in their anti-Coca Cola agitation.
After that, he joined the Aam Aadmi Party and became the Sankat Mochan of the party and emerged as a trusted lieutenant of the Aam Aadmi Party. He also worked at the grass-root level and traveled kilometers to establish the image of the party in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
Moreover, he never contested election but actively participated in various state assembly elections supporting other candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party. In 2018, for the first time he got nominated for the Upper House of the Indian Democracy for the Rajya Sabha elections and he became a Member of Parliament.

In many interviews, he revealed his hobbies as he likes reading, watching movies, and traveling. He also revealed that his favorite celebrities are Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar. He has emerged as an important pillar of the party when it comes to tricky negotiations and conflict resolutions.
