The 2021 American Music Awards would have BTS performing in person on stage.
BTS made this known via a tweet on November 8th, 2021.
They added that they would be performing with Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan Thee Stallion and BTS released a remix of “Butter” in August and shared their support for each other on social media. The group met up with the artist in person when they were in New York to speak at the Sustainable Development Goals Moment at the United Nations General Assembly.
BTS is nominated for three awards at the 2021 American Music Awards: Favorite Pop Duo or Group, Favorite Pop Song (for “Butter”), and for the first time ever, Artist of the Year.
The 2021 American Music Awards will air on November 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
